FAI Materials Testing is looking for a smart and capable student with a pleasant temperament who is willing to take on projects related to material and chemical testing. The position is flexible and can work around the student's schedule and is a paid position. We focus on testing of materials brought in by clients and would require some technical know-how of chemical analysis, microscopy use, DSC, TGA, GC-MS, FT-IR and more. The ideal student can start in August and it is not required to have extensive experience, just needs to be motivated, willing to learn and can work with little to no supervision. CDC (ORISE Fellowship) Job Posting


Entry-level laboratory technician position in the Division of Laboratory Sciences at the National Center for Environmental Health, CDC

CDC's National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH) strives to promote health and quality of life by preventing or controlling those diseases or deaths that result from interactions between people and their environment. The Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS) at NCEH is seeking an entry-level laboratory technician in the Organic Analytical Toxicology Branch. The research group utilizes state of the art techniques for developing analytical methods for monitoring human exposure to environmental contaminants, specifically polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). The developed methodology will continuously be applied in studies aimed at identify and quantify exposures to environmental contaminants in the general population as well as certain populations at special risk. Job responsibilities will include sample handling and preparation utilizing various extraction techniques and instruments.

Candidate should be a recent graduate (BS chemistry or biochemistry major) with excellent laboratory skills, preferably with experience in extracting, handling and processing of biological samples. Arizona Chemical - Lab Technician - Summer 2012


1.      JOB PURPOSE: 
This position will be primarily responsible for supporting tackifier dispersion development work for strategic adhesive projects and technical support for customers

  1. KEY DELIVERABLES:
       Key work areas include:
·        physical characterization of experimental resins,
·        making and characterizing waterbased tackifier dispersions,
·        formulating adhesive compositions, and
·        application testing of pressure sensitive  adhesives.

3.      KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE: 
·        Bachelor degree in science with degree in chemistry preferred
·        Proficiency in Microsoft application products
·        General chemical laboratory experience
·        Knowledge of statistical analyses
·        Familiarity with ISO and safe work place practices
·        Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
·        Must be capable and interested to work in team environment
·        Demonstrated flexibility in assignments
·        Demonstrated ability to learn new tasks, concepts and applications
