CDC Job Opening
CDC Tobacco Product Lab is seeking a qualified BS level
chemist.
Skill requirements:
The successful applicant must be familiar with modern
analytical chemistry techniques ranging from automated solid phase extraction
(SPE) sample preparation, gas chromatograph mass spectrometry (GC-MS), high
performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). A strong background in good
laboratory practices, oral and written communications, and method development
are essential.
Duties to be performed:
The applicant will work under the instruction of a research
chemist in developing analytical methods for the analysis of harmful
constituents in tobacco products and mainstream tobacco smoke. This includes
sample preparation, bringing up or extending existing analytical methods,
conducting qualitative and quantitative measurements, and analyzing data.
