The Scripps Research Institute
is currently seeking a full time HTS Robotics Engineer I for its Florida
facility. The ideal candidate will
operate the fully automated high-throughput screening (HTS) and compound
management robotic platforms to perform diverse biochemical
and cell-based assay protocols. Will work closely with internal
scientific, information technology, and engineering support personnel to
successfully develop and execute HTS and/or compound
management protocols; operate and maintain ancillary laboratory automation to
reformat compounds and/or execute HTS assays in 96-,
384-, and/or 1536-well format plates.
Will also operate vendor software that interfaces with automated
equipment and processes large amounts of HTS-related
and/or chemical inventory related data.
Other duties as assigned.
Requires: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physical
sciences and 0-1 year of related experience in an engineering, analytical or HTS laboratory (or an equivalent
combination of training, education and/or experience); demonstrated
technical proficiency performing complicated lab techniques including equipment
operation and maintenance, liquid handling and automation, and strong mathematical
and mechanical skills. Exceptional
organizational, communication, attention to detail, and interpersonal and team
skills are required. Must have advanced
proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications: Practical understanding of
chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, physical chemistry, biochemistry,
and/or cell biology is preferred.
