Dr. Steven Hayden (GT PhD alum), who is a Senior Research Scientist at ASC, shared the
position.
Note: The official call for students is general for the company as a whole. The students that Dr. Hayden is looking for will be involved in research efforts with the Advanced Materials Team at the Aramco Research Center in Cambridge, MA.
ASC is looking primarily for chemists and chemical engineers who want experience with an industrial research setting. Per Dr. Hayden, one of the other attractive aspects is that they are currently publishing quite a bit, so it is possible (not guaranteed, and depending on the level of the student’s involvement) for them to get paper authorship out of the experience.
Dr. Hayden’s research thrusts are in catalysis (nanosynthesis, characterization, testing, etc.), membranes (gas separations, polymer chemistry, mesostructure, etc.) and network integrity (nanoscale steel corrosion, electrochemistry, [electron] microscopy / microanalysis, etc.).
Human Resources is now accepting candidates for the 2017 ASC Summer Student Program.
