Rush Alpha Chi Sigma

Alpha Chi Sigma Rush
Tired of trying to find different organizations that meet all of your goals and interests as a student? Look no further! Alpha Chi Sigma covers all of your bases. Alpha Chi Sigma is the professional co-ed chemistry fraternity here at Georgia Tech, and it focuses on social, professional, and outreach components. Instead of joining 3 different organizations that focus on 3 different things, why not have it all?
Join Alpha Chi Sigma and become a part of something much more than just a college club. Become a lifelong member and make connections that you will appreciate and cherish long after you leave college. (Please keep reading for additional details!)

Join us at our Rush Events:
Thursday 9/6
11-12 pm: MS&E 2nd Floor Atrium
5-6 pm: Ford ES&T Atrium (L1)
**Chem, Biochem, ChBE, BME, MSE, EAS, PFE, Pre-Med, Pre-Dent, Pre-Pharm, etc. are all welcome, and there will be free food at all events!

Social: Members develop friendships with people who share similar interests, in chemistry and social activities. Our brotherhood chair plans events including Atlanta Braves games, Thrashers games, weekly dinners, and a yearly brotherhood retreat to help develop lifelong friendships.

Professional: Alpha Chi Sigma isn’t only about having fun though. It is also about developing professional ties and working with professionals in the field. Since many Alpha Chi Sigma brothers graduate and go to work for the biggest companies in the world, you will always have contacts in the business world should you ever need them. Also, many professors are brothers as well, which can help with the planning and applying processes if you decide to go to graduate school. Our professional activities chair also plans events during the semester to strengthen our connection with the professional world.

Outreach: Alpha Chi Sigma brothers love to do outreach events in the local community. Every semester, local Boy Scouts come to campus and we travel to local schools We do demonstrations for the students and Boy Scouts, teaching them fundamental principles of science and wowing them (sometimes with fire!) to help them gain an interest in chemistry.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Amy Schwartz at aschwartz9@gatech.edu

Hope to see you at rush!

Women's Leadership Conference Award Nominations

Each year at the Women's Leadership Conference, Georgia Tech honors women who demonstrate exemplary leadership abilities. These are women who lead with heart, creating innovative solutions while inspiring and uplifting the entire Georgia Tech Community. The Women's Leadership Conference is seeking to honor a female leader who awakens the passion for success of those around her. She encompasses the ideals of a successful leader, radiating a demeanor that compels others to do the same.

In other words, we are looking to honor commendable female leaders who have been personally inspiring and will continue inspiring others with their story and their actions. Honoring such a woman at the Women's Leadership Conference 2012 would not only be an excellent way to reward an admirable leader, but would also encourage females at Georgia Tech to do the same - to follow their passion and to make a change.

Please consider nominating an outstanding faculty member, staff member, alumna, graduate student, and/or undergraduate student.  Undergraduate and graduate students, in addition to being recognized at the WLC Conference November 2-3, will also receive a scholarship amount of $1000. The website is currently being updated, but the forms can be found at the following link . The nomination applications can be emailed to awards@gtwlc.com by 5:00 p.m. Friday, September 21, 2012.
