Momar (speciality chemical manufacturer) Internship

Momar has a new part-time, entry-level, Quality Control Technician Internship position in Atlanta (30318).  This will be a day shift, weekday position, requiring approximately 20-29 hours a week (days and hours may be flexible).  Pay will begin between $12 - $15 per hour, DOE.  Below, please find the job description.  Feel free to send any qualified resumes to careers@momar.com.   


Momar, a specialty chemical manufacturer, is immediately seeking a part-time, entry-level, Quality Control Technician Intern to perform chemical product testing.  Position will involve wet chemistry (titrations), instrumentation (AA, UV-Vis), sample preparation, quality control, administrative tasks, and understanding of general laboratory practices.  Primary responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
  • Safely performing operations to meet quality expectations.
  • Maintaining a tidy work area, including cleaning equipment.
  • Contributing to all support functions of the lab (e.g., maintaining equipment, preparing reagents, restocking lab supplies, assisting in waste disposal, etc.).
  • Providing complete and accurate records, consistent with quality guidelines.
  • Aiding in identifying opportunities for process improvement and participating in process improvement efforts.
  • Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds, unassisted, and/or pushing/pulling heavy materials.

           
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must have, or be studying toward and completed a minimum of three years of college in pursuit of, a B.S. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other closely related STEM major.
  • Proficiency with computers and MS Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Strong grasp of algebra and general science.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • One year of independent lab research or industrial lab experience.


Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Strong troubleshooting, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills.
  • Solid understanding of analytical techniques and equipment.
  • General knowledge of safe chemical handling methods.
