CDC position - Biomonitoring Laboratory - BS, MS and PhD graduates



Research Fellowship Positions at CDC’s Biomonitoring Laboratory

The Tobacco and Volatiles Branch (TVB) of the Division of Laboratory Sciences (DLS) at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is currently seeking recent BS,  MS, PhD level graduates (degree conferred within last five years) for research fellowship positions (2-4 yr term) in Atlanta, Georgia.  In the VOC and Toxic Anion Biomonitoring Laboratory of DLS, we quantify human exposure to environmental toxicants using advanced analytical chemistry methods in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities (www.cdc.gov/dls/).  Candidates should hold a chemistry or biochemistry degree (B.S. or dual major preferred) with interest in laboratory analyses involving mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, and handling and processing of biological samples. The starting salary for a BS level graduate is $41,348, MS level graduate is $50,578, and PhD level graduate is $61,193.  The fellowship offers a standard Blue Cross/Blue Shield health insurance policy (no dental or vision) with a maximum stipend toward single coverage of $513 per month.  Please note that this position does not offer relocation expenses.

PURA offers $1,500 (max.) salary awards to undergraduate students conducting research who are being mentored by a faculty member or GTRI scientist.
