Summer 2018 Short Course: “Concept to Market”
This nine-week non-credit summer course will guide participants through the process of taking a concept from the laboratory to the marketplace and building a business around it. The course is based on a series of case studies that deal with various aspects of product commercialization and business development, including market analysis and competitive assessment, business strategy, product scale-up and production, financial analysis, intellectual property, risk assessment and regulatory issues. It is intended to prepare the studentforaworldbeyondtheacademicenvironmentandtopresentbusinessconceptsthat willbeimportanttothosewhochoosetopursueanon-academiccareerpath.
Participants who complete the course will receive a certificate, but not GT course credit. The course will be taught by members of the School’s Advisory Board, all with extensive relevant experience from highly successful careers in the private sector.
Lunch will be provided immediately after each class.
