Intro to Avery Technology and a Discussion on Making the Transition from School to Industry


Abstract:
This presentation will provide an introduction to the R&D structure and technology platforms of Avery Dennison.  Avery is a $6 billion revenue, Fortune 500 company which makes a variety of pressure sensitive products for labeling and adhesive solutions.  Part of the presentation will also focus on making the transition from school to industrial R&D.  Also to be discussed is Avery’s Technology Leadership Development program (TLDP), a technology rotational program currently seeking PhD and Masters candidates for employment.


Biography: 
Henry Milliman is a research scientist at Avery Dennison in the Performance Tapes Division based in Cleveland, Ohio.  He received his B.S. in Chemistry from SUNY Fredonia in 2007 and his Ph.D. in Macromolecular Science and Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 2012 where he worked with Prof. Dave Schiraldi.
