The DLS (www.cdc.gov/dls/) quantifies human exposure to environmental toxicants using advanced analytical methods and a state-of-the-art laboratory facility. The positions involve the application and potentially development of analytical methods using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, ICP-MS (quadrupole, dynamic reaction / collision cell) for the analysis of trace elements in different biological matrixes (e.g. blood, urine, serum). Some positions will also involve high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC-ICP-MS) and gas chromatography (GC-ICP-MS).
