We invite you to come and attend the 2011 Sigma Xi Monie Ferst Award Symposium to be held at the Georgia Tech Global Learning Center. The symposium will start at 9AM with a meet and greet; followed by lunch.
In honor of Dr. Cooks’ award, his previous students will be presenting a series of 25 minute presentations of their past and present accomplishments.

Gary Glish, Professor of Chemistry, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; Research Interest: Mass Spectrometry - Instrument and Methods Development, Ion Chemistry, Characterization of Biomolecules.

Scott A. McLuckey, John A. Leighty Distinguished Professor—Analytical Chemistry, Purdue University; Research Interest: Devoted to understanding the chemistry of gaseous macro-ions.
Kenneth L. Busch, Investigations, Office of Inspector General, National Science Foundation; Research Interests: Spectroscopy.

Hilkka I. Kenttamaa, Professor—Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, Purdue University; Research Interest: various aspects of organic and bioorganic mass spectrometry.
Vicki Wysocki, Professor and Department Chair of Chemistry & Biochemistry, University of Arizona; Research Interest: Analytical, Biochemistry, Bio-analytical, Instrument Development, Spectroscopy/Molecular Structure, Structure Biology.

Mark Bier, Research Professor of Department of Chemistry, Carnegie Mellon University; Research Interest: Biophysical chemistry, Environmental chemistry.

Jenny Brodbelt, William H. Wade Endowed Professor in Chemistry, University of Texas; Research Interest: Focuses on the development of quadrupole ion trap mass spectrometry for a variety of interdisciplinary applications related to bioanalytical, organic, and inorganic areas.

Kevin Schey, Professor of Biochemistry, Professor Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, Vanderbilt University; Research Interest: Proteomics analysis in development and disease; mass spectrometry technology development.
