WVU Nano REU Program
Our Nano Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) site at West Virginia University (WVU) has been refunded by the National Science Foundation. Thus, we could use your help in identifying candidates for the 2013 program. More information and an online application can be found at http://nanosafe.wvu.edu/education/undergraduate-programs/reu. The Nano REU program offers a unique blend of multidisciplinary research, educational programs, and fun team-building activities. Participants are involved in ongoing research in the field of nanotechnology with applications to environmental monitoring, early disease detection, biometrics, and energy efficiency. The 2013 program runs from May 20-July 26 and participants receive $5,000 + room/board/some travel expenses. We will begin evaluating completed applications on/after March 15, 2013 and admissions will be on a rolling basis. Applicants should be rising sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate students majoring in science, engineering, or mathematics. Underrepresented minorities, women, persons with disabilities, and U.S. Armed Forces veterans from predominately undergraduate institutions within Appalachia are especially encouraged to apply. However, the site is not limited to these demographics.
